Prosecuting, David Garnett said Hawksworth, of Harrow Street, Pontefract, threatened to kill her dog unless she answered his texts.

Mr Garnett also said that Hawksworth threatened to visit her house at 5am, when the police change shifts, so they wouldn't be 'interrupted'.
Convictions

Hawksworth has previous convictions for assaulting the woman and was out on licence at the time of the offence in August. Hawksworth pleaded guilty to putting someone in fear of violence and was also given a restraining order.

Sentencing him Judge Geoffrey Marson QC said: "You are clearly making this lady's life a misery."
