Work on Wakefield's troubled market food hall is set to be finished this spring, council bosses have vowed.
The new £3m indoor market, next to Wakefield bus station, was opened with a fanfare in June 2008.

The re-opened hall will also feature a new demonstration kitchen for regular cookery skills shows, using produce from the market.

The completed food hall along with the main hall and outdoor market will be open up to six days-a-week and will be able to accommodate 12 businesses in stalls as well as two barrows.

Lisa Dodd, service director for culture and sport said: "We are all now looking forward to what promises to be an excellent market complex. The new features in the food hall like the demonstration kitchen will be a real draw."
