Residents are enjoying a fun-filled summer of events in Middleton Park, thanks to a cash injection from the National Lottery.
Friends of Middleton Park, who work to promote the park and improve its facilities, recently received a grant of £5,500 from Awards for All, which is funded by the National Lottery.
Councillor Geoff Driver (Labour, Middleton Park) said: "I was thrilled to hear about this grant for Friends of Middleton Park. Along with my ward colleagues Judith Blake and Debra Coupar, I regularly attend their meetings and know how hard they have worked to improve the park. I am delighted that their hard work has been recognised."
Highlights will include Middleton Memorabilia Day, where local residents will team up with the city's Museums Service to display items of local historical interest. They are also holding Teas in the Park every Sunday until September 28.
Coun Driver added: I know FoMP are still working hard to make Middleton Park an even better place to visit in future, but this grant is a great boost and I would like to thank Awards for All for their support. It has gone a long away towards giving the people of South Leeds a fantastic summer of entertainment in Middleton Park."
