Middleton never looked like scoring in the first half; Leodis dominated the game, but despite this Leodis could only manage the one goal in the first half.

The Middleton back four were like rocks for most of the first half, the Middleton lads battled and then battled some more to keep the score 1-0 to Leodis at the half time interval.

The second half shown the Middleton lads determination to get something from the game, Middleton got better and better as the game went on and came close to a goal on several occasions, Rodney Adams soon made the score 1-1 with a fantastic run and strike.

Leodis continued to battle and both teams played some great football, but it was Leodis who squeezed in the next goal, after a lapse of concentration from the Middleton defence. Leodis looked like winning the tie at 2-1, but a tactical substitution saw Martin Evans replace James Hemmings, Martin scoring a spectacular goal with only his second touch of the ball.

Gareth Robinson received the man-of-match award after a solid display at the back.
