Middleton never looked like they could take something from the game and Halfway dominated throughout the first half scoring through various moments of brilliance and the odd moment of magic.

The Middleton players were furious with their own performance, but as much as they tried, they couldn't find the winning formula; although they did manage a fantastic goal from Rodney Adams after a quick break sent him through on goal. The Halfway boys couldn't stop scoring goals and at half time the score was 8-1.

Middleton came out in the second half knowing the game was lost, but the Middleton lads still had it in the back of their minds that it was a cup game and extra time was still to play for. Middleton played much better in the second half, but just couldn't break down the Halfway defence.

Halfway continued to score and Middleton looked like heading towards their worst result of the season.

Middleton did manage a second consolation goal through another great strike by Simon Barraclough who was playing his last game before his ban in January.
