Match report: Middleton Park FC v Red Lion Crossgates

Middleton Park suffered a 7-2 reversal at the hands of Red Lion Crossgates.

Middleton started well, going a goal up in the first few minutes, a brilliant strike from Aaron Afori-Atta. Red Lion fought back within minutes and levelled the score, soon after replying with another goal to make the score 2-1.

Middleton couldn't handle the pressure and Simon Barraclough soon lost his head with team mate Gareth Robinson, the referee called the players over and Simon Barraclough started arguing with referee, the referee gave him a yellow card and the Middleton Management substituted him fro Simon Mead, he continued to argue on the sidelines and he received a red card for his efforts.

Red Lion continued to dominate the game throughout the first half, the flood gates had clearly opened, Red Lion leading 5-1 at the half time break.

The second half saw a much better performance from Middleton, but with a mountain to climb they soon started to get disheartened, even though they managed another goal through Aaron Afori-Atta.

Red Lion showed the passion to kill the game and remove Middleton's hopes when they scored two more goals, to seal the win.

Aaron Afori-Atta received the Man of the Match award for a fantastic performance.
