The first half of saw some great football from both teams, Middleton Park going 1-0 up within the first two minutes with a Rodney Adams strike, Halfway house replying 5 minutes later with the equaliser. Halfway House continued to pile on the pressure and they soon found themselves 2-1 up, with another goal making it 3-1 soon after.

Middleton Park continued to battle when Rodney Adams was brought down in the box, Nicolas Egan stepped forward to slot the ball home to make the score 3-2 to Halfway. Halfway couldn't stop themselves and they found chance after chance, Steven Rose pulling off some amasing saves to keep Middleton in the game, but Halfway scored from a great set piece movement just before half time to make it 4-2.

Simon Johnson was substituted at the break for Martin Evans. Middleton looked like they could get something out of the game, when Nicolas Egan went into a 50-50 challenge.

The match was abandoned after 15 minutes due to the injury and Nicolas was rushed to Leeds General Infirmary, where he was told he had broken his leg in two places and he will need an operation to insert a metal plate and pins.

Everyone involved with the game would like to wish Nicky all the best and a quick recovery.

The game will now go to the League Committee to decide if it should be replayed or not.
