Middleton Park's heroic performance didn't show in the result. Steven Rose played the game of his life and acted as a brick wall between the sticks. Steven Rose pulled off a rare one on one challenge, diving at the striker's feet and retaining possession for Middleton.

Middleton dominated in the first half, but chance after chance failed to cross the line, Rodney Adams beat the goalkeeper, but failed to finish his chance and Carl Palmer had a goal disallowed for offside, although it was a bit too close to call.

North East Leeds started the scoring after around 20mins and then another goal soon followed from the North East Leeds number 9. The Middleton lads kept battling and managed to grab a goal through Rodney Adams after an amasing run that saw him walk round the goalkeeper and slot the ball home.

North East Leeds replied on the break to record their third goal, just before half time.

At half time Steven Rose had to be replaced by Ben Heath due to a knee injury and Martin Evans was replaced by new signing Dan Kittle. The Middleton team went into the second half with the confidence to turn the game around, but after a few mistakes at the back that all resulted in goals, it was looking less and less likely after every minute. Joao Lopes made his debut, replacing Darren Watson after 20mins of the first half, the Portuguese midfielder played well and shown great potential.
Carl Palmer had a great game, but just couldn't finish his chances and Dan Kittle managed to play well and helped to create lots of chances all of which were squandered.

The whistle finally went putting the Middleton lads out of their misery, but overall, Middleton can see an improvement on the horizon despite the score.
