The best in south Leeds sport, dance and drama achievement for young people was celebrated as the stars of the future took centre stage at the annual Hunslet Club Awards Night.
Hundreds of proud families joined in the celebration hosted by the club which saw over 260 youngsters take home trophies and awards for achievement in boxing, football, drama and dance.

The night was also an opportunity to thank the dozens of dedicated volunteers and coaches who work with young people at the club seven days a week.

A special lifetime achievement award was made to former caretaker and current volunteer Ken Holdsworth, who has been involved with the club for 50 years.

Club director, Dennis Robbins, said: "The club is at the heart of the community and has provided a place for young people to have fun and reach their potential in South Leeds for over 60 years and when you see how pleased the kids are to receive an award recognising that they've done well at something, it seems very worthwhile."
