A Hunslet supermarket worker is celebrating 25 years of unbroken service with Morrisons.
In a special event at the supermarket giant's Bradford headquarters, Michelle Lightowler received a certificate and company shares from company honorary president Sir Ken Morrison.

She was joined by 31 Morrisons staff from across the county, all o
f who were treated to a celebration dinner, an evening at the theatre and a night in a top hotel.

Sir Kenneth Morrison, said: "We are very proud of our staff and it is wonderful that we have so many celebrating 25 years' service. I would like to commend them on their hard work and loyalty. It's a great achievement and one which they should be very proud of."

Michelle started working as a checkout operator in 1983 and has been a successful checkout manager since 1988.

Ron Eames, area manager for the Hunslet store, said: "Everyone at the store is delighted for Michelle who is an incredibly hard working and loyal member of staff.

Michelle said: "I can't believe it has been 25 years. It has passed so quickly and seems like only yesterday when I started working here. I've made a lot of friends at the store and feel very proud to have been recognised for the 25 years I have worked here."
