There was singing among the smoke when the choir of Leeds Parish Church sung at the Middleton Light Railway.
They gave a recital in the engine shed, and beside the train on the platform at Station Moor Road to celebrate the railway's 250th anniversary.
Local soprano Jenny Leadbeater also joined the celebrations.
Dr Simon Lindley, who led Saturday's recital, said: "We were absolutely thrilled to be invited to participate in this special concert."
Middleton Railway, which was built by order of an Act of Parliament in 1758, is the oldest commercially successful railway in the world. Its original purpose was to carry coal from Middleton Pits.
There is now one mile of operational track, which runs from Moor Road to Park Halt.
You can catch a steam train at the station from 11am to 4.20pm every Sunday.
Tickets cost £4.50 for adults, £2.50 for children and £12 for a family ticket.
