A man in his 50s has been charged in connection with a gas blast which wrecked one house and damaged two others in Middleton ten months ago.
A 56-year-old man was dragged to safety from the wreckage of his house on Middleton Park Road, Middleton, in January after an explosion ripped through the property.

Much of the roof of the end terrace house was ripped off in the devastating blast. Slates were fired more than 50ft away across a busy road.

Yesterday, a 57-year-old man was charged with destroying or damaging a property recklessly as to endanger life.

He is due to appear at Leeds Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

Gas engineers, West Yorkshire Police, Yorkshire Ambulance Service and around 20 firefighters from Hunslet, Morley and Rothwell were called to the incident.
