Ex-heavyweight title holder Steve Adams and double British champ Padraic McDonagh will open Golden Team Gym and Fitness Centre in Hunslet on Saturday, June 13, following the success of their Thai boxing gym in the city.

As well as winning trophies themselves, the pair have also trained dozens of champions, including British Thai boxing champions Sophie Hawkswell and Oliver Hutchinson, who featured in the YEP last year.

Anyone who attends the launch of the new gym, on Parkfield Street, can receive an annual membership for £150.

Steve, 39, who won the British Heavyweight title in 1996, said: "We've had a Thai boxing gym just round the corner and we've had a successful stable of fighters, so we've now bought all the equipment and weights machines for a full gym.

"We'll be holding classes in everything from street dancing to cage fighting and we're excited about the new challenge."
