Volunteers at Skelton Grange Environment Centre have been learning new skills and helping protect wildlife as part of a series of events aimed at young people.
So far, volunteers have built bird boxes and hedgehog houses, planted fruit bushes and redeveloped a sensory garden by planting new herbs to improve the experience for visiting schoolchildren.
The free volunteering events are designed for 16-25 year-olds and the final event of the month involved a day of tree planting.
The events are supported by GreenPrints, a partnership of five of the country's leading not-for-profit organisations, that is dedicated to helping young people improve green spaces in their communities.
Project officer Toby Roberts said: "The volunteers have made a really positive contribution to Skelton Grange's wildlife gardens, and the environment as a whole."
"They've really enjoyed getting out in the fresh air and learning some new practical skills."
