March took over from Graeme Hallas in July – initially until the end of the season – and steered Hawks to sixth place in Co-op Championship One.

Hunslet visit Blackpool Panthers in an elimination play-off on Sunday and March confirmed he is speaking to the club about his future.

"I've enjoyed my time here and I want to take the club forward, not just on the field," he said.

"I am in talks at the moment and as long as they go the right way, I can't see any reason why I won't be staying."

March added: "We need to work hard off the field to raise awareness of Hunslet Hawks and bring more spectators through the gates. If we can have a good play-off run, hopefully that'll bring people back."

Nathan Larvin will return at full-back tomorrow after a one-game ban. Joe Howey has a slight knock so will drop to the bench, with Wayne McHugh starting in the centres after his hat-trick as a substitute against Oldham last week.
