Hunslet Hawks back Lowe case

Hunslet Hawks will defend forward Neil Lowe when he appears before the RFL disciplinary committee following his red card in the 34-6 home defeat by York City Knights.
Lowe was sent-off for kicking in the first half of a defeat which saw Hunslet slip to fourth in Co-op Championship One.

"At the time I didn't see it, because I was pitch-side," said Hawks coach Graeme Hallas. "Having reviewed it on DVD, that suggests we have got a defendable case.

"I think it was harsh. You don't want to see people out of the game, so we'll have another look at it and see what defence and what strategy we can come up with."

Hawks have no game this weekend, which could give Richard Chapman (arm), Nathan Larvin (knee) and Steve Dooler (neck) a chance to recover from injuries suffered again York.

Of Sunday's performance, Hallas said: "We had a simple game plan and we didn't go anywhere near executing it. We were poor in a number of areas and the scoreline reflected that."
