Half-back Jonathan Schofield left the club last week, after playing one senior game, to join league rivals York City Knights.

Hallas said: "Finances will determine everything in terms of strengthening, but I am reasonably happy with the squad we've got.

"I'd be happy to go into the important end-of-season games with what I have."

Hawks – who travel to Swinton on Sunday – have eight matches left and Hallas added: "We've not set any targets.

"We'll look after performances and the scoreboard and the league position will take care of itself."
