The ex-Hunslet Parkside junior has joined Hawks from cash-strapped Co-op Championship side Doncaster and could make his debut at home to York City Knights in Championship One on Sunday, June 14.

Hallas coached Reittie in Rhinos' lower grades and he said: "He's young, he has got bags of potential and he's local.

"He's someone I've been keeping an eye on since he left Leeds and if we can get the best out of him, we will have come up with a more than useful acquisition."

Reittie said: "I am delighted to join the Hawks and hope to play my part in their push for promotion.

"After the recent troubles at my previous club, I just want to concentrate on playing rugby again and helping my home town team to achieve the success their efforts deserve."

Meanwhile, Nico Slain could make his comeback from injury on Sunday, Craig Fawcett is line for his debut following a recent move from Keighley Cougars and Michael Brown has also been added to Hawks' initial squad.
