My great great grandmother Selina Brooks was born at Cheap Street, Hunslet in 1875, to an unmarried woman named Elizabeth, who was from London and Exeter. Elizabeth married a fireman named William Pearson and he took Selina and her older brother William on as his own. The family moved to Frost Fold, Hunslet. I believe both streets have since been demolished. Selina married John Johnson and had 4 sons and 1 daughter before dying in 1912. Does this ring a bell with anyone? Perhaps you share the same ancestry? I'd love to hear from you.
